Street Fighter IV producer wants a Tekken 6 tie-up

February 11, 2009 by Ruibo

ryu-and-jinThe recent announcement of a Home tie-up for Street Fighter IV provided a big reason for PS3 owners to take another look at Sony’s young virtual world. With the forthcoming release of Street Fighter IV, the producers of the title managed to secure a tie-up with PlayStation Home. According to IGN, talks are in progress as Capcom and Sony are trying to work out an arrangement regarding the SF4 content to come. More interestingly, Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono has expressed his interest in a tie-up with Tekken 6, should its producers decide to go into Home as well.

Ono suggested that if Tekken 6 decides to develop its own community at Home, then perhaps they could arrange for some kind of tournament where fans of Street Fighter and Tekken can go at it. As to how they’re gonna go about it, Ono didn’t elaborate since it is, after all, just an idea so far.

That would be outright cool though. Maybe they can add a feature where Street Fighter and Tekken-themed avatars can beat each other up on a community space, then have prizes for the champs or something. I hope Namco Bandai considers Ono’s idea.
