Suda51 Believes the “Middle Audience” Will Save Market

The Japanese gaming industry has been in a steady decline the past few years, and Suda51 has some words on the Japanese market, as well as his favorite game.
Suda51 is the creator of No More Heroes, Killer7, and head of Grasshopper Manufacture sat down with gamesindustry.biz at the Nordic Game Conference to say his piece.
He is well aware of the gap between core and casual gaming audiences, and says there is nothing in between.
“I think it’s going to be very important for games to be created for that middle audience, and that will help bring the market back on-track,” says Suda.
And that couldn’t be more true with Japan’s dwindling market. but it’s doubtful that Suda51 will be changing how his team develops their games. Market success doesn’t seem to be his main objective, but rather to get new ideas out in the open.
Oh, and Suda51’s favorite game? Burnout Paradise. Not an expected answer there, is it?
