Quite a shocker, EA has announced it’s plan to buy casual game creator PopCap, known for Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled and Peggle, for a hefty price of $750 million. The acquisition costed $650 million cash and $100 million in stocks.

Popcap just released a Peggle add-on for World of Warcraft and it allows users to play Peggle inside World of Warcraft locations.

Tiltfactor released a Bejeweled clone game which satirizes the plight of worker bees who are paying the price for the incompetent Wall Street types behind the economic meltdown.
