Wow, Square Enix really meant what they said earlier this year that they are not giving up on ‘Final Fantasy XI’ because they just announced that there will be three more expansions coming for ‘Final Fantasy XI’. How awesome is that? Plus, close Beta next week for Final Fantasy XIV.

What a huge relief for gamers still playing ‘Final Fantasy XI’! Yesterday there were rumors flying around that Square Enix will be shutting down FFXI to make way for the next MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. However, today the CEO of Square Enix ‘Yoichi Wada’ took care of this rumor himself with his twitter.

A high employee at Square Enix posted that MMORPG ‘Final Fantasy XI’ will be shutting down completely this year to make way for ‘Final Fantasy XIV’. However, the post was deleted from that person’s blog and there are still no confirmation whether this will be true.
