Quite a shocker, EA has announced it’s plan to buy casual game creator PopCap, known for Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled and Peggle, for a hefty price of $750 million. The acquisition costed $650 million cash and $100 million in stocks.

Steam officially launched their ‘Family Games’ for Steam users who are interested in buying kid friendly games. This is probably to draw in parents who uses Steam to play adult titles to buy family games and start their kids on Steam format.
