Tales of Vesperia on the PS3 Beats ‘Tales’ Records

Why can't we have ToV: Patty the Pirate Edition too?
The ‘Tales of’ series has always been sort of niche, even in Japan. The announcement of Tales of Vesperia for the PS3 had a lot of fans without a 360 excited. So just how well did ToV PS3 do on its first day on sale?
It did extremely well for a niche RPG, and even better for a ‘Tales of’ game.
The Playstation 3 version of Tales of Vesperia sold 147,000 copies in the first 24 hours. That’s more than double the Xbox 360 version, which sold 71,000 copies on its first day.
If that doesn’t really put things into perspective, consider that Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of The New World sold 120,000; Tales of VS solid 89,000, and Tales of Innocence sold 76,000 — all on their first day of sale.
Maybe Japanese PS3 owners just really wanted a legitimate RPG, or maybe the new loli pirate pulled them in. (I’d bet on the second choice)
Either way, it’d be great if we got ToV in other parts of the world. Namco’s been pretty negligent with bringing us more ‘Tales of’ games as of late. Localization, please.
