The Developers of Wheelman Shopping for Publisher for New Property

We talked recently about the shady dealings going on with the collapse of Midway. Needless to say, the now defunct publishing and development house going under, some titles might get left out in the cold. Midway Newcastle, who developed the recent Vin Diesel-driven game Wheelman, were working on one such title known as Necessary Force – in fact the game is already in a playable state. While it looks like Warner Bros. will scoop up a decent portion of Midway assets, this game doesn’t look to be one of them.

Necessary Force is an Unreal engine based open-world game, where the player takes on the role of a tough-as-nails detective who doesn’t work by the book. The trailer over on the game’s official site doesn’t tell us much, but it’s pretty clear that the game’s hero isn’t screwing around in his quest to redeem his city.

There’s some pretty clear shots of him redeeming it right in the face with a lead pipe. While it doesn’t look to be anything too original in the grand scheme of things, it does seem to have some potential in terms of narrative and gameplay. Hopefully, some publisher will find it in their hearts to pick the game up.
