The Truth behind the 2010 Xbox Rumours
June 16, 2009 by srfto

A recent report has shown that a new Xbox console has been planned for release early next year! Featuring new and improved hardware, this console will be jammed full of cool new features. From the report:
“Natal will not only be released as an add-on for the Xbox 360, but will become standard and in all future consoles.
And yes, there will be a new console come fall.
It won’t just be an Xbox with a camera, oh no, it will also have a totally new platform (Xbox Natal?) It isn’t clear exactly what upgrades will feature in the new release, but we do know that there will be major advances on the current Xbox.”
The idea that Nintendo will follow suit and do the same with the Wii can be speculated about, considering their current console is practically built solely on top of the Gamecube console, with the “Wiimote” being the only real addition:
“There will be backwards compatibility, so current games will still be playable, but also, there will be the ability for future games to pack that extra punch. Developers will still be able to use the same programming as they do now, adding elements with more advanced structure for that added “oomph”. Some developers have complained that the Xbox has already reached its full potential; maybe this will give them something to work with?
We are not talking about Xbox being upgraded, or reworked; we are talking about Microsoft ending the current Xbox line, and starting a new one. Instead of the current Xbox being expanded upon, Microsoft will be rebranding, redesigning, and recreating a new Xbox.”
The full details of this advance upon the Xbox technology have been released to certain reporters and will be released in the coming weeks, and this is how we can tell you that Microsoft will not be upgrading the current Xbox to what will become an “elite version”, but more, starting the cycle again.
We do not mean to tease you, but all we can definitively release about this now, is that this new console will not be released until a certain type of television becomes more widely available, because the currently available screens will not be able to cope.
