Thoughts on Warhammer Online 1.1 Patch

December 5, 2008 by Ruibo

Their recent 1.06 patch was an extremely big update. Lots of changes in all the careers, some good some bad. What I really don’t understand is what their intentions are for patch 1.1 and why are they working on PvE stuff when this game is fully intended for RvR.

I’m not sure about the rest of us but I don’t ever recall entering any dungeon and farming bosses for items other than once in a blue for public quests. Main purpose of that wasn’t just for the item itself but also for exp. I’m not looking to play another WoW with instances, heroics and grinding all over again. From what I’ve heard about WoTLK, alot of copies going around from WAR, with the new bgs and seige warfare. Each game need to keep its unique path imo and stick to what they advertise and present the best. Below is the excerpt I stating some of the changes in the upcoming 1.1 patch.

Game Update 1.0.6 introduced several changes to City Dungeon Itemization. These changes were intended to be part of patch 1.1 but were released prematurely with 1.0.6. They are part of our greater plan to increase the availability of rarer items in the dungeons as a whole. While the number of Sentinel Armor Set pieces dropped from bosses will remain reduced players can look forward to even more rewards with the arrival of 1.1!

IMO they need to revert the gear back to NOT bind on pick-up. This completely leaves the casual player out of getting and decent gear…Lost vale, sigmars(and the chaos eqv). In order to even tank these you need at least 5 piece of Bloodlords/anhilator set, if not u get schooled like a little child. At least with gear not binding on pick up when guilds run these and get loads of gear for people that already have it or dont need it, it can be passed on to those players who dont play as much. Just makes it so the casual player can till get in and compete gear wise.

I would still love to see some latency issues fixed with large scale battles.

Oooo I disagree with this one since it be no point of anybody to try to do any hard bosses or keep taking. They would just wait for the high level guildies to get the gear for them.
I do agree with the latency issue to be fix.. =D

How can you disagree. This game is about Pvp dont force me to have to farm lost vale for the Darkpromise gear. If you have guildies whod rather do PvE then PvP and they have some over flow gear it should be able to go to the guildies

Keelia you need to stop being lazy and get your own gear…you just want freebies from your guildies, the instances arent hard, or very long and the casual gamer can run them easily in a sitting. I think the updates are fantastic, altho they should not have touched the cast RDPS, now everyone got a big buff and they got a sizeable nerf, so there is now a big gap. but im sure it will be fixed soon…hopefully.in EVERY MMO to date the good gear has always been bind on pickup, I dunno what planet you are from. This patch is also adding some RvR influence for those of you who dont want to PvE a little bit so that you can still get good gear, which is awesome.
