Unique Side-Scroller: Snapshot

Also being showcased at E3 were smaller video game developers looking to gain support for their work. One of these groups was a two man team who happened to have a new type of side-scroller to show to convention goers.

Snapshot is different because a player can actually choose their own items by taking pictures of things that are found in the game. When the player wants to use the item, they simply drop the photo onto the place they want it to be used. If they want to keep the item for future use, another click of their camera is all it takes. The video shows a player making use of an elephant to push a block, as well as putting crates around the stage and even putting in a door.

Apparently things get tricky when there are sections where players are not permitted to take any photos or are limited to a certain number of photos they can carry with them.

The game so far seems very interesting and currently is only being developed for PC. Hopefully the potential of the game will help to boost it’s transition onto consoles as well, but we just have to wait for that.
