It has been reported that EA is running a promotion for buy two games get one free deal and the offers include some Valve games like Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike, and Left 4 Dead 2.

However, it was also reported later on that the games will be the box retail version and not the digital downloadable version. It was a huge surprise to everyone before they found out that the games will be in box format.

EA is in talk with more publisher to add their content to the Origin Service. EA will still keep their plans on not putting Battlefield 3 on Steam and will keep it in their own Origin service.

If you think about it, it is kind of weird to buy a game off Origin to go back to Steamworks and vice-a-versa. If all game companies start doing this then my Windows will be filled with dumb service icons on the taskbar and I will have to log-in for each one to play the game.
