A few weeks back, Australia refuse to let Valve’s upcoming zombie killing sequel ‘Left 4 Dead 2′ to be release because it was deemed too violent for 18 and under in Australia. Now Valve is reporting that they are appealing to the Australia Classification Board and asking them to review the game again.

Gabe Newell said the review of the game will be reported back in October 22nd. “I thought Left 4 Dead 2 would get the same treatment as Left 4 Dead 1,” said by Newell “So I was a little surprised.”

Valve Gabe Newell also revealed that there is a second version of the game that is also submitted to the board as backup if the decision of the appeal is denied for rating again. However, Newell said they will not be using this toned down carebear version unless they are sure that it is the final choice they have to release the game in Australia.

“We think Left 4 Dead 2 is a lot of fun, It’s a game for adults. But we’re aware that different countries have different restrictions, and we want to make the choices that make the game the most fun for that country.”
