Valve Still Tweaking Team Fortress 2 Engineer Update

Valve just recently posted on their blog that the Engineer class update is probably the hardest class to update. Brandon Reinhart let all TF2 fans know the update process of the Engineer class and from the long detailed post he just posted, it doesn’t seem its going to swell.

We’re plugging away at the Engineer update. He’s an interesting class to work on, because he creates a larger footprint in the game than any other class. This means we have a lot of options to work with, and the resulting set of ideas is truly daunting. Since we’ve already built and playtested some things that haven’t worked out (with no false modesty, I think we’ve mastered the art of rapidly making things that aren’t fun), we thought it might be interesting to give you some of our failed experiments

He then went on explaining that they try to give the Engineer a new building called the ‘Repair Node’; which will help the Engineer leave his base unsupervised, but in return it made, “nearly everyone else in the match suffered as a result.”.

Sadly, this class update might probably be the last and final class update for ‘Team Fortress 2′. Hopefully, we will see more updates on the classes in the future.
