Gamers stepped up recently and solved a puzzle that even stumped scientists for years.

The problem was put up on an online game called Foldit, where players need to reconstruct molecules to have a “elegant structure that reflects a lower energy state for the molecule”.

The puzzle that was solved can lead to a cure for AIDS in the future said Firas Khatib, a biochemist at the University of Washington.
