Vivendi CEO John Levy becomes Activision Blizzards new chairman

Activision Bizzard have hired Jean-Bernard Levy (CEO of Vivendia) as their new chairman. He’ll be responsible for arrying on the exceptional work of Rene Penisson, who at the age of 67 has decided to move on when his mandate expires. Vivendi are the majority owners of Activision Blizzard and bring with them a wealth of video gaming experience. Despite the poor shape and influence of the global economy Blizzavision are expected to announce impressive sales figures on Thursday.

Levy is currently one of the 11 directors on the Activision Blizzard board. Despite Levy chairing, Robert Kotick will maintain his role as the publisher’s CEO. A position he held at Activision since the early nineties. The chief executive of Activision Blizzard is currently Robert Kotick.

The Acitvision and Vivendi merger took place during July 2008.
