WoW Armory Makes its Way to the iPhone
July 17, 2009 by Polt
Blizzard has released a spankin’ new World of Warcraft Armory client for the iPhone, giving WoW players on the go the ability to do way more than they’d ever have expected in an iPhone app.
The initial difference between the official armory client and older third-party software is the connectivity between a player’s account and the app itself. Third-party software had no way to retrieve a player’s information, while Blizzard’s official client requires a log in to get character-specific data.
A player can use the iPhone armory client to look up character information and specs, check out their server’s leader boards, get up-to-date Blizzard news, mess around with the talent calculator, browse items, and even check out their guild calendar.
Sounds like a lot, right? But any WoW player who owns an iPhone owes it to themselves to try it out.
The app is named the “World of Warcraft Mobile Armory” up on the app store, and is completely free. It does require at least version 2.2 of the iPhone OS, but that shouldn’t be a problem for most.
