Xbox 360 Beating the Wii in the UK

With everyone and their mother buying a Wii (literally), it was bound that sales were going to falter eventually. And just that has happened in the United Kingdom, where the Xbox 360 is selling twice as much as the Wii.

GfK ChartTrack released the data, which shows that from the beginning of February until June 27 the Wii sold 300,000 units, while the Xbox 360 doubled up at 600,000.

This is an interesting turn of events considering the Wii’s current dominance of the market, but the only real explanation could be that the Wii has so saturated the market at this point that anyone who wants one already has one.

This could change come the release of Wii Sports Resort considering the high sales of any Wii thus far, but it is a small victory for Microsoft in the meantime.
