Yakuza Studio formed, New Yakuza Games In Development

The last five years have been kind to Toshihiro Nagoshi and his pet project Ryu no Gotoku/Yakuza.  It has sold millions of copies worldwide and now holds a stable fan base. As such, Sega has created a separate division for Nagoshi to lead. Though Yakuza studio will definitely be churning out more installments on their flagship series, Nagoshi wishes to make other just as good games and earn honors still.

The good news doesn’t end there though.

It has been revealed that the newly formed Yakuza Studio is already working on two new Yakuza titles. One would be Yakuza 5 which has yet to reach Nagoshi’s standards as fit for public preview. Next would be a direct sequel to the PSP spin off Yakuza: Black Panther, aptly named Yakuza: Black Panther 2. This game on the hand will be made viewable for all during the Tokyo Game Show next month. A tentative release date of Spring 2012 has been set for this PSP title.
