Duke Nukem 3D making a comeback

The reviews for Duke Nukem Forever may not have turned out as well as expected but there’s no stopping Duke from making another comeback with a remake of Duke Nukem 3D dubbed as Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded.

Gearbox Software has given the green light to a small Danish studio called Interceptor Entertainment to work on a remake which will be powered by the Unreal Engine 3. Jon ST. John will also be contributing to the voice dialog for the game.

There will be sixteen-player multiplayer with 4 playable characters and an open beta available later in the near future. The multiplayer open beta will offer two multiplayer maps and seven weapons including the Ripper, Shotgun and the Mighty Boot. Game modes will include ‘Dukematch’, ‘Capture The Babe’ and a play on Horde. Gamers can choose to play as Duke, General Graves, Assault Trooper and Pig Cop.

You can check out a few screenshots and couple of concept art below. More details can be found at the official blog.
