Secret Starcraft 2 Pre-Beta Info and Beta Key Give Away

April 4, 2009 by Ruibo

s2The release date is still unknown but Starcraft Wire is holding a nice little contest to give a way a beta key. Nothing too out of the way but not sure what the chances are. Either way, it’s free to enter, nothing to really lose but 5 minutes of your time.

s3BN member Superfux just found two hidden “SC2 Pre-Beta” pictures on Battle.net 2.0 web interface. There hasn’t been much updates from Blizzard regarding beta but we could assume this is probably for a selected few or the press. However, it does tell us things are moving along and can probably hope to hear more on beta soon.

We don’t have information whether these have been there for a long time, for some internal “pre beta” testing, or if Blizzard just uploaded them in preparation to a “pre beta” for selected people, like the press. However, this certainly brought up our hope on beta again.

If you view through some of these sources, you’ll be able to find some codes referring to the beta.

It really doesn’t say much but again, it does give us a little hope and something to look forward to.

Well, since Blizzard started allowing the Blizzcon 08 beta keys to be entered a week or so ago and those are specifically for SC2, it’s reasonable to assume the beta will be coming within the next month.

It’s just a waste of time without LAN.

What parent would trust Blizzard to look after their kids? I don’t want them playing online with strangers. How long before we find out that more kids are being groomed online through these games by predators?

Blizzard/Activison 200,000 people have signed the petition(s) on the boycott so far! disrespect the fans at your peril Pardo (and of course Bobby Kotick, the 15 Million dollar man)

it’s sad too – as an owner of several copies of the original I was looking forward to this next chapter after ten years, But now …. It’s parents and gamers who make a game. Kid’s don’t have the money for a subscription service and no parent is going pay in bandwidth…

Your deluded Blizzard! and it’s going to cost people jobs and you shareholders dividends, I hope the idiot who floated this brilliant idea gets the axe before the developers and coders do (or perhaps not… it only takes one disgruntled employee).
