Starcraft 2 Without Lan Action

Blizzard’s most anticipated RTS sequal, Starcraft II, will be released with no LAN. Although this may not seem sound like a big deal to most of you folks, but I had to say I couldn’t stand playing on BattleNet with all the lag issues and spam.
Blizzard Community Manager Kevin Yu took part in a Q&A session with StarCraft fans, including IncGamers’, Starcraft Wire, answering questions about the game’s balance and individual unit statistics. However, when it came to the LAN issue, Yu was unable to confirm or deny its inclusion in the RTS sequel.
This is surely a big disappointment, now I’m forced to play on Bnet with friends and see all the nice ads that are installed for us. I do hope the issue with multiple computers playing on the same IP will be fixed since that was the biggest flaw of the original Starcraft.
The two biggest concerns Blizzard probably has with providing LAN access are piracy issues and monetizing on their ads. Seems like they have good intentions of milking the most out of Starcraft 2 fans. $100 for the game, Bnet ads, and although they say Bnet is free now– its always a possiblity of a premium memberships.

I totally agree. This sucks. Making money should not prevent customers to use the game for local games with friends. This damage will make numerous fans to refuse the purchase, including myself. Also, I will hate to use a hack to play lan, if it comes out, but I’ll do it.
We’ve given the game industry to much power, look at how greedy they are becoming. If i’m not mistaken isn’t it common courtesy to not treat people like they are thieves until you catch them in the act? Who are they to judge honest people because of something that MIGHT happen!!! That is completely ridiculous and if we were smart we would start a huge no one buy sc2 uprising and show them where the money comes from! Remeber sc1 people when you could install a spawn on all your LAN pcs! Thats before we gave all these greedy fools our hard earned pay, it’s so predictable, you needed us and now you don’t so your trying to flip the script. i know it’s unrealistic that people would actually come together for once and have some BALLS to stand up and all consecutively not buy sc2 because no one has that strong of faith but i know we could do it if the word was spread and people cared but they don’t, just keep rolling with the punches you weenies!!! let them shape and make what used to be a great generous industry!!! we aint gotta keep getting punked seriously!!! nothing better to do anyways lets show em who’s boss! start making youtube videos start sending emails lets do this shit! make t-shirts that say dont buy starcraft2, quit calling me a thief before i even stole something!!!!! do somethin! i have a friend that used to always go out of his way for people when he was kinda broke and needed someone to lean on, but now that hes rich he wont lift a finger for nobody!!!! GREED straight up its a disease and a delusional unhealthy empire we have let this industry become. Games are hardly about gameplay anymore it’s about the way it looks, who cares i want something that works not something thats pretty and hyped up, liars and fakes game industry, thats what your becoming. Don´t worry, an aplication for lan games will be released like what happend with left4death, the only diference is I though to buy the original game, but now I will be very happy copying their game….

They get millions for games like WOW and they are so damn cheap ass bastards to cut “lan” only that people will play on their servers ? Ignorant bastards the fans will rebel, you want us to play on your servers only … I bet that this games will be ripped to pieces

These guys only want more money. Remember that Blizzard is just another corporation, and corporations are design to make money. That is all.

Really a side day when my childhood dream developers turned to the dark side . Only thinking about making the maximum profits out of their fans . How many more people need to ask for you guys to listen and put in our beloved LAN feature . But I presume they think that everyone in the world has superfast internet and to hell with those that dont have . Me and my mates will now never be able to re – live our local LAN with 6 guys in 2 different rooms slugging it out against one another .

No lan = no buy for me! I have no inet and live in a remote area so cannot get inet. Used to love playing lan with mates on SC . Those days are gone , might aswel sell the pc and get a console. sad days !
Well I will definately be pirating this game if LAN is not implemented. There will be a hacker to find a way to host private servers somehow. F*ck you Blizzard.

If Blizzard thinks that a pirates cant build loader for lan games – he strongly strongly has mistaken, just as pirates have made the AI for beta, they are easy will make a LAN module. So if you want play LAN games, just wait and download a crack or loader that will be available, i dont doubt. I dont understand, why developers think: what that one has made – the another one cannot break? Very fondly from their side. So i think they have made just more piracy with cutting lan ability from the game 
cause, this is only another stIm for pirates to crack the game.
